About Me:
Hello, I am Hannah. I am currently at student at Wayne State University. I started this blog to ease the adjustment for High School Seniors to successful College Freshmen. I know firsthand that it is difficult to make this jump because I have recently jumped myself. But, one of the most shocking adjustments is being on your own. No one can tell you what to do, how to do it, or when to do it. It's all on you. For example, going to class, what classes you are going to take, whether to live on or off campus. So many choices and these choices will affect your future.
It is hard in the beginning but with a few simple changes into your lifestyle, you will able to make the jump over the Grand Canyon seem like a jump over a broomstick. It is definitely a wake-up call to be on your own and to make your choices, but the first step is money managing. Money managing is key in not only your college life but your life after you graduate.
In the beginning of my writing journey through English 1020, I saw many sleepless nights with added confusion. I did not understand why in the world how rhetoric had to do with anything or why I needed it in my writing. I thought my writing was alright as it was and that it wasn’t the greatest writing but it definitely wasn’t bad. However, I never understood rhetoric. Early responses indicated that I was severely off and that I should just give up because I was a lost cause. After all, I am a science major looking to pursue my dreams of going to medical school. But I know that rhetoric will haunt me for the rest of my life if I do not embrace the idea now.
Looking back, my writing has definitely improved and I seem more experienced and knowledgeable because I can convey my intelligence more effectively than before. Most of my writings as you will see are popular culture based but that is because that is my world. I am more aware of what a movie is good or not, which artist has an amazing album out, whose clothes are on sale (where and when). So why not take something I know about and write about it as I surely will never face writers block doing such. I know many older citizens of America feel that youth is wasted on the young and we should do more about what directly affects us then what word Paris Hilton has spelled wrong on her Twitter. But why not combine the two? If you make the news more youth friendly imagine what you can accomplish, imagine how wise you can make the youth. But if you continue with the boring path, you’ll lose viewers and that’s never a good thing. I like to keep important items laced with popular culture to advise my peers to have a cause in the world or at least make a change.
